So, It appears I haven't written in...well, in a very long time.  However, I'll tell you about today.  Today is the birthday of a very special girl.  Why is she special?  Because she's my younger cousin Brooklyn, that's why.  I was charged with the task of making her cake so we wouldn't have to buy her a birthday present (we'd gotten the present shortly before we got the call...go figure).  One thing that I love to do is bake!  This is mostly due to the fact that I only recently learned how to frost a cupcake, it's flat but looks nice.  This round I'm doing an actual cake instead of my usual conglomeration of cupcakes, so let's cross our fingers that it turns out well. I Remember

So, I really don't have anything to say at the moment.  However I'm sure it will come as I'm typing.  Today...what can I say about today?  I went to the dentist  I just wont talk about today.  There are few things in life that really make me stop and think.  One of those things is my younger brother.  For those of you that know me (I mean personally), you know that I have two younger brothers.  This is true, in some sense.  When I was in fifth grade, my mom was diagnosed with hashimoto's, which deals with your thyroid, a couple weeks later, she got pregnant.  A few months after she got pregnant she started feeling sick and was hospitalized so the doctors could monitor her because of some really bad water retention.  On the older of my brother's birthday, she was released but only because she begged the doctors to let her go for his birthday.  After that it got worse, with this worsening came a trip to the emergency room and her being life-flighted to a hospital in Salt Lake City.  I only saw her once while she was up there and it was because they didn't know if she was going to live or die.  And that was before they shoved tubes down her throat to feed her and to keep her breathing.  Shortly after her arrival in the new hospital, they induced labor and my mom gave birth to a baby boy named Cort Roy Roberts.  He died shortly after being born.  My most vivid memory from that time is when they came back, seeing how scared my dad was and how horrible my mom looked.  I'm crying as I type this because that is the kind of heartache that comes with those memories.  The worst part of this is not that my mom almost died, but that I had to go to my younger brother's funeral, had to sing to all those that came to help us send him into the ground when I had never had the chance to meet the baby boy who had saved my mom and quite possibly my family.  That is one of the most significant times in my life and also one of the few that make me stop and think about how different my life would be today if my little brother hadn't died, if the doctors had monitored my mom's thyroid and possibly if I'd lost my mom.

Breaking News

I have no idea what I'm going to blog about today, I don't have very many people who actually look at my blog, however i did get three views on the 26th or 27th, I'm not sure which.  That is my new record.  My previous record was probably one, so three is an improvement, sort of.  I've decided to make it a point to blog more, however I don't see how it's going to change lives when nobody reads my posts.  I'd do something to change that but I'm too lazy and if I wasn't I'd get all excited and plan everything out and then it would never end up happening.  So here it is, my semi-daily words of wisdom.  Things these days often make no sense what  so ever, if they did we'd be a lot better off.  I'm pretty sure that we spend way too much time worrying about things and then over complicating that in the end we feel slightly ADD (or ADHD depending on who you are) and that, in the midst of us being super busy, nothing actually got done.  It also doesn't help that with all of the technology these days, people never have to remember anything.  It kind of makes me wonder what happened to using the old paper and pencil.

Things I Believe

Sometimes I wonder why we bother doing some of the things we do. I mean, do we really need to waste our time doing something we hate to earn a piece of paper whose value is slowly going down the toilet? I think we could find something more valuable to do with our time. But then if you enjoy the way you earn that piece of paper, that's a different story. However, that is not why I'm writing this. I don't hope to sell you my beliefs and/or shove them down your throat, I'm hear to tell you what I think and if you don't agree with them, that's your problem not mine. So here it is, what I believe in as little words as possible. 1) T.V. kills braincells. There are many things that kill braincells however, T.V. is the biggest I think. Some of you may say, "Well I watch educational programs, so it's actually building up my braincells." I humbly respond, "Have you ever taken the time to think about all of those commercials you watch? I agree with one of my aunts when she told me that you can almost feel yourself getting stupider as they progress." 2) Whoever told me that I had to take more than one science class was stupid. Do we really need to know what the heck a barometer is, or how people mined things. If I wanted to know, I'd Google it. 3) Celebrities are idiots. I know I'm kind of stereotyping, but really, do you need to go through all of that drama to get some attention? You're a bug under a microscope, no drama is needed to get attention. 4) Paparazzi people need to get a life. Seriously, you stalk people just to make them look horrible. So why do they do that? I'm convinced that they're out to prove something, but if that's true then why don't they prove that if you stare at a T.V. screen long enough things with patterns start moving around. 5) Math is important. Math, unlike science is not subjective to your job. You may ask when you'll ever need trigonometry or the Pythagorean theorem, try the zombie apocalypse. If you're ever on a building and need to know if you can reach the shotgun your now dead friend had, I will kid you not, you'll be glad you paid attention in math class. 6) Reality T.V. shows are dumb. You want reality, live your life!!! 7) I have the force. Just kidding, it would be awesome though, especially if I wear the Darth Vader costume. 8) The new My Little Pony show is addicting. Don't dis it until you try it, 'cause, as my friend Savannah would say, "It's epic!" Well, that's all my tired brain is willing to dispense at the moment, so goodbye, goodnight, and "may the odds be ever in your favor!"

Diary of Quotes

It takes one person to love, but it takes two people to make it work, I don't think anyone ever realizes that or ever fully understands what it means. In fact, I don't think anyone truly knows what love is, especially these days. I mean, we can watch a show and the main characters meet for what, a minute or two, and suddenly they're so in love that they make the most important decision of their life because someone was exciting? That's not how things work, that's the kind of thinking that takes you down a long road to unhappiness. Honestly, this is where the word 'infatuation' comes into play. You can sit there and think that they're the one for you because they are exciting, fast paced and what not, but, let's face it, it won't last very long because that isn't love. Love comes when two people, who have known each other more than a month, who can tell you about the other person's entire life, who stays with them despite their problems, and both of them work together. It also helps if they stay together through the tough times that everyone knows are going to come. In conclusion, it takes only one person to love, but it takes two to make it work.
